Nikola Baturan, Audit Manager at The Finance Generation

I was born in Belgrade, Serbia almost fourty years ago, with two very strong passions: auditing and sports. These occupations give nice balance to my life, together with my family, friends and very much loved pets. I am part of the assurance business for more than ten years and it has always been big enjoyment to continuously improve auditing skills, big privilege to be mentor to younger colleagues and big responsibility being capable to lead others with your own example.

When did you start at The Audit Generation?

I started at The Finance Generation in March 2024.

What were the reasons for applying to work at The Audit Generation?

The most important reason why I have applied to work at TFG, was the idea of connecting audit practice with IT knowledge. Audits driven with data analytics are much more time and cost effective, while they keep the auditor’s focus on the most important things of engagement.

On the other hand, automation of the process helps with repetitive, less interesting work being completed faster and smoother.

What was your first impression of the company?

„Wow, I am pretty sure we’re gonna make something big in the future.“

What is your current impression of the company?

Through learning the methodology and tools used at The Audit Generation, getting used to the way of working, and everyday interactions with my colleagues, I am now impressed with the well-set up, productive, and encouraging work environment. The knowledgeable and engaging partners provide participative guidance, while my colleagues are always willing to help with a smile. It’s a great team!

Can you elaborate on your own career/background and how The Audit Generation fits into this perspective?

During my career, I have achieved title of Certified Auditor and continued to educate myself in IT auditing. The Finance Generation has the similar path with its innovative audit approach, so our collaboration was something meant to happen.

Can you explain what the most difficult things were when you started working for a Dutch auditing company?

When you do things you like, there are no difficulties, only solutions. Dutch language is specific and provides nice challenge to learn it, but nowadays technology helps a lot and we don’t have any language barrier.

In which way can you describe your performance and your added value to the Dutch auditing branch?

Together with both my Dutch and Serbian colleagues, I mostly perform the mandatory audits of medium sized companies from The Netherlands. During my career, I have internationally audited wide range of businesses, projects, specific organizations, which gives me better understanding of each client and assessment of their specific risks in less time.

What do you like about the atmosphere and culture of The Finance Generation?

It is an honor, pleasure and fulfilling duty to be the part of The Finance Generation. In my humble opinion, TFG is a game changer on the auditing market, focused on quality of performance, delivery in time and good relations, both with clients and between employees.
