In the Netherlands, it is difficult to find skilled and loyal employees due to the shortage in the labor market. Our team in Serbia gives us the peace of mind to continue building in the Netherlands.
Can you briefly introduce your organization and explain your role in it?
WMA Assurance is an audit-only firm. I am co-owner of WMA Assurance and a signing partner.
What challenges did your organization face in terms of audit capacity?
Shortage on the labor market and the difficult recruitment. It has turned out that employees do not know how to find you easily. Recruitment agencies are pricey and do not always offer loyal employees. Within the collaboration with The Finance Generation, we not only have the advantage of a quickly scalable team, but also more value addition compared to other solutions within the Dutch market.
How did you look for a structural solution?
We were looking for a sustainable relationship in which you can count on the partners you work with. Several providers with less specific audit knowledge and with operational and logistical challenges such as time zones and lack of Dutch Audit knowledge have been dropped from our selection process.
Why did you ultimately choose to work with The Finance Generation?
After considering various parties, we chose The Finance Generation because the personal professional contact with The Finance Generation and the involvement is very high and we have experienced this as very constructive. The support from the organization of The Finance Generation in Belgrade and the Netherlands is pleasant and knowledgeable. In addition, the concept has been proven with other customers, so there was validation of the plan.
How did the start of the collaboration go (onboarding, communication, involvement)?
As desired. A clear onboarding schedule was made and shared that we could stick to in the start-up, with plenty of room for your own interpretation. There is transparent communication about candidates, commercial agreements and expectations.
How do you experience working with the audit professionals from Serbia in daily practice?
Good, the quality is as expected and meets the Dutch standard. In remote collaboration as a starting audit-only firm, you have to keep paying attention. Also in the clarity from us to the Serbian team. Logically, it requires an investment in attention and time. We have experienced from the start that the collaboration gives us opportunities, which more than makes up for investing time and attention in the new team members.

The workload has decreased by working with the Serbian team. The image of the company has grown. Customers and employees find it interesting to be involved in this. Scalability is clearly an advantage.
